National Day of Sweden celebrated in the Botanical Garden in Zagreb

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Zagreb marked the National Day of that country. On June 6th, they celebrate the National Day of Sweden in honor of two historical events: the election of Gustav Vasa as king (June 6, 1523) and the adoption of a new constitution.

Previously, June 6 was celebrated only as a flag day. It was not until 1983 that it gained the status of a national day. Since 1996, June 6 has been celebrated as one of the 6 days a year with a gun salute, and since 2005, the national day has been an official holiday and is also a non-working day. At the reception at the Botanical Garden in Zagreb, the Swedish Ambassador H.E. Anna Boda addressed the attendees. The event was attended by a large number of guests from the diplomatic corps, associates, and media representatives.
