At the 39th edition of the prestigious world wine tasting Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2026 in Germany, the Tikveš winery won ten awards, including those for the best white and best red wine from the country where the wines come from. The triumph was rounded off by a special award for the best national producer of North Macedonia.

The Tikveš winery confirmed its dominance at the international wine competition and once again proved that it has the potential to create world-class brands that stand out in the strong competition with their unique values.
At the evaluation of Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2026, Tikveš, in addition to the title of the best national winery, won two other top Best of Show awards: the best white wine was declared Bela Voda White 2025 awarded gold, just like Barovo Red 2022 in the category of red wines. The labels Babuna Red 2023, Bela Voda Red 2022, Luda Mara Red Cuvée 2024 and Babuna White 2025 were also decorated with gold.

With new successes, Tikveš once again confirms the recognizable character of its wines, which stand out even in strong international competition with their signature terroir, complexity and strength. The strict evaluation rules at Mundus Vini give special weight to these results, because according to the competition’s provisions, a maximum of 40 percent of all registered wines can be awarded a medal. In such a selective competition, each recognition gets a special value, and the two Best of Show awards for the best wine from Macedonia, and the award for the best producer, stand out as the pinnacle of this year’s success.
– This success is a strong confirmation that the wines we create in Tikveš are distinguished by their top quality, authenticity and successfully stand out even in the strongest international competition. We are especially pleased that the awards come for wines from different terroirs and different styles, which shows that our viticulture potential can produce top results in a wide range of wine categories. Our ambition is to continue creating wines with a recognizable mark and top quality, which will rightfully be represented on the world stage – said Svetozar Janevski, President of the Tikveš Board of Directors.

Barovo Red wine from the 2015 vintage previously won the historic, first platinum medal for Macedonia at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) competition in 2018 with 97 points, so these awards of the Tikveš winery are the result of continuous quality improvement, whereby all processes, from growing grapes to wine production, are carried out in accordance with the highest standards.
Tikveš is the only winery in the region that continuously applies innovations, tools based on artificial intelligence and introduces digitization and green technologies. All activities are based on an integrated scientific approach that positions this winery as a leader in modern viticulture and winemaking.
