As a tribute to the 65th anniversary of the October Hungarian revolution and freedom fight of 1956, the Hungarian Embassy in Zagreb organized a festive concert with prestigious, state awarded Hungarian folk singer Irén Lovász and her ensemble the “V4 (Visegrád 4) Groove & Voice”.
The show, held at the Zagreb Academy of Music and entitled „Roots and Wings”, was part of the Embassy’s program set up for the one-year long Visegrád 4 presidency Hungary has taken over on 1 July 2021. The concert was performed in a Visegrád country cultural format, assembling musicians form Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and served to feature traditional characteristics of the region’s common folk song heritage in a modern coating.
