After the “Gradska Kavana”, formerly “Johann Franck”, was taken over by Stanić Beverages, a member of the Stanić Group, over 250 entrepreneurs from all over the world gathered there this Tuesday for the IBMC – International Business Meetup Club business networking party. The Gradska Kavana shone in full glory again and overnight became the central place for socializing and entertainment in the city of Zagreb.
Stanić Group, which operates in Croatia, the region, as well as in Arab countries and the USA, in the distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and in production through brands such as Maraska and Juicy, is entering the hospitality sector for the first time with this move. The Stanić Group Management Board states that the City Café aka Gradska Kavana should function as a representative point of their business, but also as an ambient symbol of Zagreb.
IBMC is business networking organization for entrepreneurs, diplomats, people from the media, culture and sports in Croatia and the EU, which was launched 6 years ago by Croatian entrepreneur (Business developer), marketing expert, travel writer and photographer Josip Novosel, better known on social networks as Dear Leader Joe.
Josip Novosel or Dear Leader Joe as everyone calls him, has been thinking for years about starting a business networking community that would make his business easier. He jokingly said, “Instead of knocking around like a Jehovah’s Witness from door to door looking for clients, let them all come to me.”
Now once a month (to be exact 9-10 times a year) at different locations in Croatia, Zagreb, he organizes IBMC parties that attract people from all over the world. In a relaxed atmosphere after a hard day at work, conversations that start completely spontaneously can open the door to new acquaintances, friendships, ideas, but also lucrative business projects both in Croatia and abroad. Joe often says that regardless of your education, degrees, talents, at the end of the day it all comes down to whether you know the right person in the right place.
Often, his events are attended by numerous directors, managers of large Croatian companies, actors, singers, athletes…, as well as people from Formula 1, the NBA, the Premier League, NetJets, and numerous other guests who fly to Zagreb for a day or two just for business networking, which is apparently talked about all over the world.
Joe started receiving inquiries about organizing IBMC events outside of Croatia, and an IBMC business networking party in Dubai was planned, which was unfortunately postponed for a while until the situation in Iran stabilizes.
