New Porsche 911 – official presentation of the design icon

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the 8th generation of the iconic Porsche 911 was presented at the Plaza Event Centre. Over 400 guests enjoyed a varied programme organized by Porsche Inter Auto – Porsche Centre Zagreb. Apart from indulging in culinary delicacies, VIP guests, buyers, enthusiasts and the media were also able to see 3D mapping with two projectors, the first of its kind in Croatia.

In addition to the music performance of the Gelato Sisters, this exclusive exhibition of the seven generations of the historic Porsche 911 cars has demonstrated the superior design that makes this model timeless.

The iconic design is refreshed with a new interior that fits perfectly with the requirements of the digital world that include a 10.9-inch touch screen with smart control system elements. The modern components of the new and timeless 911 are particularly highlighted by innovative systems such as Porsche Wet Mode and Night Vision Assists, as well as the Porsche Road Trip, Porsche 360+ and Porsche Impact applications.

The driving efficiency has been increased with a new turbocharger that has a compressed air cooler and improved injecting process. The turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine is more powerful than ever with 331 kW (450 hp) in S models. The new Porsche 911 is a real treat for speed lovers because the power transmission is enhanced by the newly developed two-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission. It takes only 3.6 seconds for the new Porsche 911 to go from 0 to 100 km/h, and the maximum speed is now 308 km/h (Carrera S*) and 306 km / h for Carrera 4S all-wheel-drive variants.

“Porsche DNA is still present while the new features contribute to a more muscular look of the Porsche 911, that is two centimetres longer than its predecessor. Owing to the combination of the iconic design and technological innovation, we can truly say that the 911 is a Timeless Machine,” said Mr Hrvoje Lapic, Brand Manager for the Porsche brand who invited guests to enjoy the new 911 with an exclusive historical exhibition that depicts the development of the quintessential Porsche design.
