PBZ Group Opens the Discussion on Longevity: How to Live Longer, Better and With Greater Security

At the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, PBZ Group, part of Intesa Sanpaolo Group,  organised the event “Together Through Time”, a unique evening dedicated to longevity – health, quality of life and financial security. The event brought together PBZ Group clients and numerous guests from the business and healthcare sectors, public figures, as well as experts who discussed, from different perspectives, one of the most important issues of our time – how not only to live longer, but to live better.

In his opening address, Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of Privredna banka Zagreb and President of the Supervisory Board of PBZ Card, emphasised that longer life expectancy brings new opportunities, but also new responsibility for one’s own health, quality of life and financial future. “Longer life expectancy is one of the defining changes of our time. That is why today we are no longer asking only how to live longer, but how to live better, healthier and with greater security. At PBZ Group, part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division, we believe our role is to be a trusted partner to our clients throughout different stages of life combining innovative financial solutions and digital services with an advisory-led approach that creates lasting value and helps our clients plan for the future with confidence.   At the same time, through the ‘Doing Good Every Day’ project, for eighteen years we have been demonstrating together with our clients that long-term commitment to the community brings tangible and lasting positive change. We believe that bringing together personal well-being, financial security and responsibility towards the community forms the foundation of a better quality of life for individuals and society as a whole,” said Dinko Lucić.

Two donations totalling over EUR 114,000 presented

An important part of the evening was the presentation of donations as part of the “Doing Good Every Day” project, one of PBZ Group’s longest running and most recognisable socially responsible projects. The project was launched in 2008 and, to date, EUR 5.7 million has been donated through it to projects intended for children and young people across Croatia. Each time a customer makes a payment with a Visa Card with a Heart, PBZ Group donates 10 cents to the project, at no additional cost to the customer. At the event at Lisinski Concert Hall, Alen Ružić, Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and Dinko Lucić, President of the Management Board of PBZ, presented the 105th and 106th donations as part of this project. A donation of EUR 68,344.93 was presented to the Vinko Bek Centre for Education for the purchase of assistive technology for persons with visual impairments, while the Zagreb Children’s Hospital received a donation of EUR 45,945 for the purchase of a microscope for karyotyping as part of a project supporting patients with rare diseases.

The central part of the programme was the panel discussion “Together Through Time – Health, Vitality and Financial Security for the Future”, which brought together experts from the fields of healthcare, psychotherapy and finance: Borka Pezo, MD, PhD, specialist in internal medicine, subspecialist in cardiology and interventional electrophysiologist, health educator and digital opinion leader in the field of cardiovascular health and prevention, president of the Heart rhythm association and author of the Minutes for the heart platform; Natko Beck, MD, specialist in radiology and one of Croatia’s most prominent advocates of health literacy; Marin Hrešić, president of the Management Board of Eurizon Asset Management Croatia and president of the Association of Investment and Pension Funds at the Croatian Chamber of Economy; and Kata Leutar Prosoli, business psychotherapist.

During the discussion, they emphasised that longevity today means much more than simply extending life expectancy. A high-quality and fulfilling life at all stages of life entails taking care of health and prevention, mental well-being, and a sense of purpose, as well as timely and responsible financial planning. Emphasis was placed on their interconnectedness and on the importance of developing habits and making decisions that contribute to a better, more active, and more secure life. Academician Igor Rudan, Professor at the University of Edinburgh, Director of the Centre for Global Health and one of Croatia’s most distinguished scientists, and Luka Modrić, one of Croatia’s most successful athletes and a PBZ Group Brand Ambassador, addressed the audience via video messages. Academician Rudan provided a broader perspective on the topic of longevity, presenting the latest scientific research and insights in the field. Luka Modrić highlighted how dedication, discipline and a continuous drive for improvement remain the foundation of long-term success, while emphasising the importance of taking care of one’s health, staying active and motivated, and continuously investing in oneself throughout life.

The evening concluded with a musical programme conceived by Ante Gelo. The programme symbolically brought together different generations of performers and musical styles, reflecting the event’s central message – that time acquires its greatest value through the people, experiences, and relationships we build.

With the “Together Through Time” event, PBZ Group once again reaffirmed its long-term commitment to promoting quality of life, responsible planning for the future and creating value for the community in which it operates.
