Rolex and Mamić 1970 present the brand’s latest releases unveiled at Baselworld, the Swiss watch fair

Independent Swiss watchmaker Rolex and Mamic 1970, established Croatian watch retailer and proud member of the Rolex family for over 40 years, organized an exclusive presentation of the watches unveiled in 2019 at Baselworld, the world’s largest watch fair, which takes place annually in Switzerland. The timepieces were shown at the Mamic 1970 boutique at Frane Petrića 7 in Zagreb, from 30 April to 20 May 2019.

OYSTER PERPETUAL YACHT–MASTER 42

New diameter with 18 ct white gold

The Yacht-Master range has been extended with the arrival of the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42. In a new diameter of 42 mm, this watch is made of 18 ct white gold, a precious metal used for the first time on a Yacht-Master model. Its case is fitted with a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert in matt black ceramic. The Oysterflex bracelet is provided with an Oysterlock safety clasp in 18 ct white gold, like the case material, with the addition of the Rolex Glidelock extension system. The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 is equipped with calibre 3235. This new-generation movement, noted for its superior performance, incorporates the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, and guarantees a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL SEA-DWELLER

Yellow Rolesor with calibre 3235

A yellow Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold) of the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller brings 18 ct yellow gold to the Sea-Dweller range for the first time. The light reflections on the case sides and lugs highlight the profile of its Oyster case in Oystersteel. The inscription “Sea-Dweller” on the dial is in yellow, mirroring the 18 ct yellow gold of the unidirectional rotatable bezel. Its 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert is in black ceramic. The Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller is equipped with the new-generation calibre 3235. This movement incorporates the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II

Blue and black Cerachrom insert and Jubilee bracelet

The new version of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is presented in Oystersteel, with a 24-hour graduated two-colour Cerachrom bezel insert in blue and black ceramic. The watch is fitted on a Jubilee bracelet with an Oysterlock safety clasp featuring the Easylink comfort extension link. The combination of an Oystersteel case and Jubilee bracelet echoes the GMT-Master II introduced in 2018, with a two-colour Cerachrom insert in red and blue ceramic. This new version is also equipped with the new-generation calibre 3285. This movement offers hour, minute, second, date and second-time-zone functions and is noted for its superior performance. Incorporating the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, its power reserve extends to approximately 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL DAY-DATE 36

New dials and calibre 3255

Of the new combinations, two feature a novel dial design with a concentric gradient: the first, in 18 ct yellow gold, is presented with a green ombré dial; the second, in 18 ct Everose gold, with a brown ombré dial. Both are embellished with diamond hour markers in 18 ct gold settings; the diamonds at 6 and 9 o’clock are baguette-cut, a configuration specific to the Day-Date range. Another version is offered in 18 ct white gold, with a pink opal dial enhanced by shimmering, diamond-set 18 ct gold hour markers and Roman VI and IX . Its bezel is set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds. The light reflections on the case sides and lugs highlight the elegant profile of the 36 mm Oyster case. These versions are equipped with new-generation calibre 3255, which incorporates the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST 36

White Rolesor and calibre 3235

The new variants of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36, both white Rolesor versions (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct white gold), feature a choice of a black sunray-finish dial, or a dial in white mother-of-pearl accompanied by 10 diamond hour markers. Their Oyster case in Oystersteel is fitted with an 18 ct white gold bezel, the first being fluted, and the second set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds. Both watches have an Oystersteel bracelet – Jubilee for the former, Oyster for the latter – equipped with a folding Oysterclasp and the Easylink comfort extension link. They house the new-generation calibre 3235, a movement that incorporates the Chronergy escapement, developed and patented by Rolex, and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST 31

Yellow Rolesor, Everose Rolesor and calibre 2236

The first new Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31, created in a yellow Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold), combines an olive-green sunray-finish dial and 18 ct yellow gold Roman numerals – the VI set with 11 diamonds – on a Jubilee bracelet. The second is an Everose Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and 18 ct Everose gold) that offers a rosé-colour sunray-finish dial with Roman numerals in 18 ct pink gold on an Oyster bracelet. Their Oyster case is fitted with an 18 ct gold fluted bezel and houses calibre 2236. This new-generation movement offers superior performance, notably thanks to its silicon Syloxi hairspring, developed and patented by Rolex. It has a power reserve of approximately 55 hours.

Like all Rolex watches, these new variants carry the brand’s own Superlative Chronometer certification, symbolized by a green seal. This certification guarantees that they satisfy performance criteria which exceed watchmaking norms and standards in terms of precision, waterproofness, self-winding and power reserve. The certification is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.

Its Oyster Perpetual and Cellini watches, all certified as Superlative Chronometers for their precision, performance and reliability, are symbols of excellence, elegance and prestige. The word “Perpetual” is inscribed on every Rolex Oyster. But more than just a word on a dial, it is a philosophy that embodies the company’s vision and values. Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of the company, instilled a notion of perpetual excellence that would drive the company forward. This led Rolex to pioneer the development of the wristwatch and numerous major watchmaking innovations, such as the Oyster, the first waterproof wristwatch, launched in 1926, and the Perpetual rotor self-winding mechanism, invented in 1931. Rolex has registered over 500 patents in the course of its history. A truly integrated and independent manufacturing company, Rolex designs, develops and produces in-house the essential components of its watches, from the casting of the gold alloys to the machining, crafting, assembly and finishing of the movement, case, dial and bracelet. Furthermore, Rolex is actively involved in supporting the arts and culture, sport and exploration, as well as those who are devising solutions to preserve the planet.
