Croatia Airlines signed a new collective agreement

Croatia Airlines and two representative trade unions signed a new collective agreement on Tuesday, the signatories reported.

The agreement was concluded after more than two years of collective negotiations between Croatia Airlines and its two representative trade unions representing all working groups for a period of five years, unlike those who were signed for a maximum of two years, says a statement signed by the administration and trade unions.

It is estimated that a new collective agreement within the framework of real financial capabilities of the company and that additional space in reaching the agreement opened up changes to the rules on income tax, which enabled the introduction of new non-taxable receipts.

It is recalled that the former collective agreement expired on 31 December 2016, but, as stated, Croatia Airlines has applied for extended periods of time for the past 25 months, thus preserving the level of social rights of workers.

“The common position of the administration and trade unions is that a new collective agreement provides long-lasting social peace, which is an important prerequisite for regular and stable business, especially during the tourist season in which the company earns the highest revenue,” the statement said.

It is added that the contract signed today is of great importance for the next development phase of Croatia Airlines, which aims to find a strategic partner of the company in line with the National Reform Program.

“Agreements with trade unions have made the assumptions for regular business operations in the future and the dissatisfaction of certain groups of workers has been reduced, which is the issue that European airlines are facing more and more often their passengers, and therefore it is expected that this agreement will have a positive impact on competitiveness Croatian national carrier and creating a better market position in the future, with a constant focus on passenger needs and satisfaction, “the statement said.

As noted, the trade union organization ORCA – Workers ‘Organization Croatia Airlines, which brings together mostly cabin crew members, pilots and aviomachers, and the Independent Croatian Workers’ Union, are signatories of the trade union side.
